The destabilization of recent events, the social isolation with severe movement limitations, the hyperconnectivity of our guarded comfort capsules, the suspension of the normal functioning of living and working conditions ofmany people in many regions has turned us into real guinea pigs. We live in an immense laboratory that generates data about the foundations of our civilization, our ideas and ideology, our things, philosophy, ethics, economics, psychology, science and art. Life in the laboratory is both a deprivation of freedom and an insidious acceptance of security. Thanks to constant and ubiquitous vigilance, we feel safe. Any act of insubordination or even a simple deviation from the current regulations can be reported and we will be sentenced to expulsion or deportation. Silence is ours, we are no longer safe outside.

Comfort Capsule is a project produced by Festival Panoràmic and MAC, Mercat Audiovisual de Catalunya.

Daniel G. Andújar, (Almoradí, Spain, 1966) is a visual artist, theorist and activist working and living in Barcelona. Andújar questions, through the use of strategies for presenting new communication technologies, the democratic and egalitarian promises of these medias and criticizes the will of control living behind their apparent transparency. Starting from the observation that new communication technologies are transforming our daily experience, Daniel G. Andújar creates a fiction (Technologies To The People, 1996) in order to make us aware of the reality and the deception of some free choice promises that inevitably become new forms of control and inequality.
